Mapua is a quaint and active coastal village in Tasman, Nelson. There is a thriving community feel in the area and it is a sought after place to visit by locals and tourists. The Tasman Great Taste Bike Trail runs through Mapua with the ferry service connecting walkers and cyclists to Rabbit Island. The wharf no longer has large fishing boats or boats to ship apples, it now gets used for visitors and has become a vibrant hub with restaurants, cafes, galleries, shops and a brewery.
It’s the perfect place to relax in the sun and have an ice cream with the kids or fish off the wharf. Summertime is great for wharf jumping or riding the tide or be a little more casual and enjoy a glass of something cold and a great meal while taking in the scenery.
